A dream brought to Life

The captivating tale of this extraordinary place takes root in the 1980s with Mihai Sobor, a true aficionado of vines and wines. As he journeyed across Europe, the quaint castles nestled in the rural landscapes of France cast a spell on him. These grand structures, harmoniously intertwined with fertile terroirs, seemed to embody all that one could desire for a joyous existence.

Thus, the seed of an idea was planted – to fashion a familial haven reminiscent of the architectural marvels found in the Loire Valley, right within his native land. Here, the passions for both wine and leisure meld seamlessly with the warm embrace of Moldovan hospitality. After years of dedicated toil, Château Sobor swung open its doors to the world in 2022, and its growth story continues, reaching ever closer toward offering enriching experiences and commemorations for every juncture and facet of life.

A wine enthusiast's dream

At the core of Château Sobor resides its beating heart – the cellar, a source of immense pride for Mr. Sobor, a devoted artisan of the age-old art of winemaking. With an unwavering commitment to traditional methods, he tends to this sanctuary of flavors.

Within these cellars repose the house wines, crafted from grapes lovingly cultivated on the castle's sprawling estate. Spanning over 5 hectares, the vineyards flourish with a rich array of grape varieties including Cabernet, Chardonnay, Aligote, and the unique Moldova grape. However, it's within the Sobor cellar that a cherished assortment of wines from our nation's most esteemed wineries finds its home.
